Doug Gleed.

Doug has spent over 40 years in the financial services business. His roles included senior executive positions and sole proprietor. Doug has earned his chartered life underwriter and his certified financial planner degrees. Doug is also a certified professional retirement coach. His coaching background includes working with senior management and sales executives and major Canadian corporations. In addition to coaching hockey including two provincial championships, he also works as a golf PGA level 5 instructor. Three children all played for their varsity teams, one on a US scholarship in Texas. Doug’s passion is helping others grow and introducing many to new opportunities. Doug’s most recent role has been working with high net worth Canadians of a major financial institution helping them prepare for retirement through estate planning. An avid golfer and follower of hockey, Doug enjoys his family time with grandchildren.

Frank Teskey.

Frank worked as a senior executive and Operating Partner in the print media business for over 40 years, including Major Daily Newspapers (Toronto Star, The Montreal Gazette, The Globe and Mail, and The Honolulu Star Bulletin). Since retiring in 2006 he has been a consultant for major daily and community media companies. Frank has experience in start-ups and responding to market needs to build successful enterprises. He has directed large teams in Sales/Marketing, Editorial, Production and Accounting. His critical thinking, positive energy, work ethic, and ability to harness the talent of the professionals who have worked with him played a key role in his success. In his spare time Frank enjoys golf, pickleball, cycling and has a keen interest in cooking. Keeping physically and mentally active has been most important to maintaining a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle during this phase of retirement.

Alex Sweeny.

Alex retired after over 40 years leading high growth strategic business development teams ranging from Canadian venture funded software startups to large corporate software, hardware and outsourcing companies in the USA, Canada and Internationally. His career spanned co-founding one of the first IBM PC resellers in Canada in 1982, and included planning and leading expansion of Canadian and US companies both cross border and globally. Alex studied Business, Law, Finance and Economics at Wilfred Laurier University. Alex is married with two children and three grandchildren that keep him very busy in his roles as father and grandfather. As an avid golfer, skier, curler, construction renovator and an accomplished fine woodworker he has shaped a retirement that is active, engaged with friends and family and provides a well-rounded lifestyle. As a board director for 6 years at his local golf club he has contributed his business and practical skills to creating a constantly improving golf product for members and guests. In his role on the TP Team, Alex brings his abilities to understand the big picture of living a rewarding retirement and break it down into all the critical elements to benefit our clients, to build those details back into a realistic and practical plan for success.

Thea Kooy.

Thea enjoys a rich employment history having spent 45 years in the publishing industry (including, Penguin Books, Scholastic, McArthur and Company, and her own business) at a senior management level. Her experience in inventory management has provided her with the experience to plan for the future both creatively and effectively. She works well on a team, managing complex situations and has the proven ability to manage and negotiate effectively with a wide variety of individuals. Her strong organizational skills allow her to see what is required quickly and efficiently. Recently retired, Thea spends her time golfing, curling, playing pickleball and going to the gym. She is an admired chef and loves to socialize with family and friends. She is also a strong volunteer for the community having spent several years on the board for her golf club and still contributes to many programs in the community. Thea’s skill set and love for life and all that it holds will bring a vitality and creativity to the TP Team. She is known as the one “who gets things done … and done right”.
